LaVerne Moulik
Savannah, GA- LaVerne Moulik, 87, died Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Tara Nursing Home in Savannah.. Born March 1, 1925 in Cicero, IL, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Beranek. She lived in New Buffalo, MI for many years where, along with her husband, she operated the family business as well as serving as a Justice of the Peace. After many years in Little Buffalo, she moved with her husband to St. Petersburg, FL where she has spent the last thirty years. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny.
Surviving are her husband, of sixty-one years, Frank H. Moulik of Savannah; and her children, Jack Moulik and his daughters, Sarah and Rachel Moulik, all of Holt, MI, Jill Bunde and her husband, Jim Bunde, of St. Petersburg, FL, and Jody Chapin Holt, her husband, Jim Holt and their son, Nick Holt, all of Savannah.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2007, in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Humane Society.
I remember the old days of Girl Scouts in New Buffalo with LaVerne and my mother, Harriet Melgin, as the leaders. LaVerne was always great fun and made us laugh and have good times and will always be remembered fondly. All our sympathies to her family from mine.
